Emotions: Documenting Individuality in Expression

Exhibition Emotions is a passion project born from a stark realization: most of the emotion we consume online has become curated, filtered, and performative. When we step away from our screens, we increasingly find an offline world where people actively suppress what they truly feel.

This project began as an intentional creative push to pull raw emotional expression back into physical environments. Stripping away synthetic studio bells and whistles, my goal was to focus purely on high-contrast environments where shadow configurations shape the underlying texture of real human experiences.

Working out of Koprivnica, I wanted to turn the camera lens toward unfiltered moments—moments where a split-second glance or a shift in natural positioning communicates a deeper narrative than words ever could. It’s an ongoing study of stripped-back presentation balances: design builds the core foundational boundaries, but directional light always reveals the underlying soul.
